Living on an island
As an island we are entirely surrounded by water. We also have many smaller islands all around our coast. So it's not surprising that ferries are an integral part of our transport system. There is now also talk about expanding the use of the river thames for commuting, to relieve congestion on Londons overcrowded roads.
